In the mining crushing process, to prevent metal from entering the equipment and causing damage, iron removers are used to remove metal objects. This paper discusses the current methods and existing problems of iron removal in mines, and looks forward to the development direction of iron removal equipment in the future. At present, non-magnetic mines mainly use iron removers to remove iron, followed by metal detectors for detection. If any metal is not removed, the machine will be stopped and manually picked up. Magnetic minerals are mainly detected by metal detectors, and electromagnetic iron removers are used to excite and remove iron in a timely manner. This method has many problems in the application of mines with high iron removal requirements. Currently, some magnetic mines have improved this by using metal detectors and electric three-way valves for iron removal. Although the above iron removal methods are commonly used in mines, they have various drawbacks. In the future, we will develop new intelligent and highly differentiated iron removal equipment, as well as new principle iron removal equipment, that can meet various complex conditions for iron removal.

With the continuous development of mining technology in China, various types of crushing and grinding processes have been applied in mines. The first six processes, including 3-stage crushing/ball milling (3C Ball), 1-stage crushing/semi autogenous grinding/ball milling (SAB), 1-stage crushing/semi autogenous grinding/ball milling/hard rock crushing (SABC), and 2/3-stage crushing/high-pressure roller grinding/ball milling (2C/3C HPGR Ball), occupy an absolute advantage in the application of domestic mining crushing and grinding processes. In all six processes, crushers or high-pressure roller mills are used for crushing. Due to the crushing principle of crushers and high-pressure roller mills, if there are oversized metal objects in the ore entering the two devices, it will cause local pressure in the crusher chamber and the roller surface of the high-pressure roller mill to exceed the compressive strength of the two structures, causing damage to the roller surface or column nails of the crusher chamber and high-pressure roller mill, and affecting the production process.
